Among those recognized at the event was Chamber Board Member and Chairman Armor Persons, whose leadership and service continue to support our mission of strengthening local businesses and our community.

Below is an excerpt from a fantastic article published by Chuck Ballaro from the Lehigh Acres Citizen covering the event. To read the full story and see additional photos, please visit the original article shared below.

Excerpt from the Lehigh Acres Citizen

“Teachers and first responders typically are the backbone of every community. It’s just that they don’t always get the accolades they deserve.

The East Lee County Chamber of Commerce has spent the last 24 years trying to change that. Saturday, at the Plantation Golf & Country Club, the best school teachers, first responders and medical personnel got the plaudits they richly deserve at the 24th annual Awards Gala.

The Crystal Award is given to the best teachers in each East Lee school.”
