Beach Renourishment Project Update

Lee County Commissioners approved an amended grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), securing more than $1.2 million in additional funding for the Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole Recovery Project. This increases the total grant to more than $21.8 million, with no local match required.

Climavision Weather Data

Lee County entered into a public-private partnership with climate-tech company Climavision to host a new weather radar in the county.

The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a site license agreement that authorizes installation of the equipment on the roof of the recently opened Public Safety Center. This radar will help close a known gap in National Weather Service (NWS) coverage that currently limits visibility of weather phenomena below 6,000 feet, including tornadoes and waterspouts.

Edison and Ford Winter Estates Fall Festival
