Beach Renourishment Project Update

Lee County Commissioners approved an amended grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), securing more than $1.2 million in additional funding for the Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole Recovery Project. This increases the total grant to more than $21.8 million, with no local match required.

Climavision Weather Data

Lee County entered into a public-private partnership with climate-tech company Climavision to host a new weather radar in the county.

The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a site license agreement that authorizes installation of the equipment on the roof of the recently opened Public Safety Center. This radar will help close a known gap in National Weather Service (NWS) coverage that currently limits visibility of weather phenomena below 6,000 feet, including tornadoes and waterspouts.

Edison and Ford Winter Estates Fall Festival

Come spend the day with us as you stroll along and shop at the craft vendor booths, get something to eat and drink, and listen to music.

Be one of the few to climb the historic Banyan Tree, pick out a pumpkin and more! The festival is free to attend; however, there is a fee to participate in each activity, and visitors are encouraged to bring cash.

Admission to the museum, laboratory, and riverside of the property requires an additional ticket.

The event will be:

• Location: Edison & Ford Winter Estates (2350 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers)
