Remembering Commissioner Mike Greenwell

A Dedicated Leader and Friend to Our Community

The East Lee County Chamber of Commerce joins our community in mourning the passing of Commissioner Mike Greenwell. Commissioner Greenwell was not only a dedicated public servant but also a valued friend and supporter of the East Lee business community.

A Legacy of Service

Appointed to the Lee County Board of County Commissioners by Governor Ron DeSantis in July 2022 and re-elected in 2024, Commissioner Greenwell proudly served the residents of Lee County.

He served as a liaison to the Fire Districts, Veterans Affairs, and the Gulf Consortium, and contributed his leadership to the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization, Value Adjustment Board, and Lee County Port Authority Board.

Supporting Growth and Community

Commissioner Greenwell was committed to improving the quality of life in Lee County by protecting our water resources, improving infrastructure and transportation, fostering economic growth, and supporting local businesses and families. His passion for our community was evident every time he attended events, met with business owners, or spoke about the future of Lee County.

Our Thoughts and Condolences

The East Lee Chamber extends our deepest condolences to Commissioner Greenwell’s family, friends, and colleagues. His leadership and friendship will be greatly missed, and his legacy of service will continue to inspire us all.
