The Chairman and Board of Directors Welcome New Board Members

The Chairman and Board of Directors of the East Lee County Chamber of Commerce are honored to announce the following addition to the Board of Directors:

Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass. Commissioner Pendergrass is no stranger to East Lee County with his involvement in the development of infrastructure and projects that are enhancing the quality of life in the communities of Eastern Lee County. Commissioner Pendergrass is a resident of Gateway and his knowledge and expertise in economic development will help guide the Chamber. As an ex officio he will be an active participant in the direction of the Chamber. Board Chair Mike Welch notes, “Cecil is a longtime friend and leader of Lee County. The Honorable Burt Saunders. Burt L. Saunders is also no stranger to East Lee County. Currently Saunders is a member of the Board of Commissioners of Collier County. Burt’s career includes representing District 37 in the Florida Senate and his work included issues facing East Lee including the Gateway area. Commissioner Saunders as a shareholder and attorney with Gray Robinson Law Firm that serves clients statewide, including Eastern Lee County will be able to provide leadership and advice to the Chamber. Board Chair Mike Welch said, “I have known Burt for many years. He is a dedicated public servant, and his private practice will assist the Chamber in its development. Ruth Anglickis is a community leader and a pioneer in the development of Lehigh Acres. Ruth came to Lehigh and East Lee County as a young professional and together with her husband Rick helped establish the “hometown”. Currently Ruth is COO of Landex Resorts International. Under Ruth’s leadership Landex is a multi-faceted company that serves in property management. Ruth’s knowledge and generosity as a community activist for the interests of Lehigh Acres and East Lee County are invaluable to the direction of the Chamber. Board Chair Mike Welch said, “The Board is honored to have Ruth on board as together we work for the economic development and the future of business in our communities. Ruth has given treasured advice and has helped our Chamber once again focus.
